UPI -based ‘WhatsApp Payment’ has knocked in India. Even though this feature is currently going through testing, but according to the news agency IANS, soon 20 million WhatsApp users will reach the country. Services like ‘Paytm’ and ‘Google Tej’, who are already providing digital payment service, will face a direct competition with ‘WhatsApp Payment’. Now through WhatsApp, you can send money to your family and friends only by going to chatbox and asking for money from them. WhatsApp payment supports about 70 banks including SBI, ICICI, HDFC and Axis Bank besides UPI.

Let’s know how to transact money through WhatsApp …

1. Upgrade your WhatsApp

If you are using this feature for the first time, then check once whether your WhatsApp is updated or not. The payment feature for Android will be available on 2.18.46 versions of WhatsApp. It will be made available to the iOS user in the coming days. After upgrading, you go to the setting and choose the option of payment. Apart from this, go to the user chatbox and tap on ‘Attachment’ in a contact and go to the payment.

2. Terms and Conditions

As soon as you go to the payment option, the user will see the message written ‘Send and get your money safely with UPI’. To send and receive payment, then the user will have to tap on ‘Access and Continue’. Here you have to choose your bank and fill your bank details while allowing terms and conditions. The essence of the things written in these terms and conditions is that WhatsApp has not legally called itself a financial institution. That is, WhatsApp will not take responsibility for any kind of obstruction or problem or stalled funds etc. in UPI service. It has also been said that WhatsApp is not affiliated to your bank in any way.

3. Verification SMS

By selecting Verifai via SMS option, the user will have to tap on the green sand button. Verification SMS will be sent to you again on this. Keep in mind that this SMS will not be free.

4. Election of banks

After configuring their number, the user will be given a list of 70 banks, from which their bank will have to be selected. Keep in mind that if the UPI option is attached to your bank, then the next step will come through SMS. If the UPI account is not linked then the user will have to generate UPI PIN. Keep in mind that the link phone number and WhatsApp number of the user should not be different from the bank.

5. Along with payment, you can track payment

After upgrading UPI and after linking the phone number, go directly to the payment option and choose the bank account, fill the amount and fill the UPI pin and click on the send. In this way you will be able to send and get money from WhatsApp. Through WhatsApp payment history, you will also know whether you have sent money or not. At the same time, this feature will also be updated to the receiver and sender through notification, and will also update the money.
