The new two-step verification is optional. But perhaps your WhatsApp account is a feature that you want to secure first. The company has assured that once a two-step verification is enabled, there will be a six-fit passcode made by the user to verify the phone number on WhatsApp.

Right now, the two-step verification feature is available only for the beta user. This feature can be released for common users in the coming weeks. Users using the Android beta app user can enable two-step verification using a version of 2.16.341 or later. Users using Windows 10 mobile beta app 2.16.280 can also enable this security feature.

For two-step verification on WhatsApp, you have to try these steps:

  • On the next screen, enter six digit passcode
  • After this, put six digit passcods again
  • Apart from this, you can also enter your email address by going to the next screen.

The final steps are optional, and WhatsApp asks an email address to link your account. If you forget your six-declared passcode, WhatsApp will send a link through this email address, which will disable two-step verification.

Remember that if someone forgets a six digit passcode, WhatsApp will not allow the last verification of the account for seven days of using WhatsApp for the last time.

The WhatsApp team clarified, “After these 7 days, your number will be re -verified on WhatsApp again without a passcode but all your messages will be deleted.” If your number is re -verified after 30 days without passcode after using your number, then your account will be deleted and a new account will be created if successful is re -verified. ,
