WhatsApp had announced in February that the company would shut down its support from all the platform smartphones operating systems. According to WhatsApp, these old OS are not equipped with essential technology for new features. The company said in a blog post that, “We need more capabilities to expand the new features in the app in the coming time”.
This new deadline of the company cannot be called very bad. Android 2.3 Gingerbread was launched in December 2010. So if you have a phone purchased 5 years ago, then you need to be careful. For iPhone users, only WhatsApp will not support the iPhone 3GS as the iOS 7 update was not received in it.
Earlier in February, Facebook -owned company said, “It was a difficult decision.” But the user using WhatsApp had to do so to keep their friends and families better connected. If you are also the user of these devices, then in 2017 also take a new Android, iPhone or Windows phone to stay connected with WhatsApp. ,
This decision taken by WhatsApp is correct as WhatsApp is a cross-platform messaging service that can chat with different OS. In the recent past, features like video calling and voice calling have come in WhatsApp.
It is worth noting that WhatsApp had given delays to devices like BlackBerry OS, Blackberry 10 OS, Nokia S40 and Nokia Symbian S60 last month. The company had said that these platforms will continue to get support till 2017. However, this deferment was not available to Android 2.2 froos and older versions, Windows phones 7 and older versions and iOS6 and old OS.
