Google Pixel 6a Blast Again Caught Fire User Reported on Reddit Installed Latest Overheating Updates

Once again, the fire case of Google Pixel 6A smartphone has scared smartphone users. In July 2025, a user reported that his Pixel 6A, suddenly burnt near the screen at night and smoke and smell spread throughout the room. The special thing is that the company’s new battery-overheating safety update in the phone was already installed. This is the same phone in which small cases of overheating and fire have been coming up for the past months.

Redit user Footymanagraddict gave complete information about it in one of his posts. The user has claimed that his Google Pixel 6A smartphone suddenly caught fire during charging. According to the post, the incident took place in the last week of July 2025 when the user put the phone on 45W charger for Steam Deck. The user wrote, (translated) “After about 15 minutes of charging, suddenly I heard the smel and light sound of plastic. On seeing it, smoke started coming out of the screen side of the phone and the back cover was also damaged.”

The user also shared small photos of the fire on Reddit, due to which hundreds of people commented on the post and expressed their concern.

The special thing is that the user has claimed that he had also installed a very important update released by Google on time. This was the same update for which Google claimed that it would end the problem of overheating. Google had earlier publicly admitted that Pixel 6A batteries were at risk of overheating and fire and that is why they also released new software updates rescued from heat.

The company says that users from other countries including India can now turn their Pixel 6A battery for free at the authorized service center. According to Google, if the phone is hot at the time of charging, the battery swells or strange smells, then it should be stopped immediately and contact the service center.
