Indian PC market saw 6.6 percent YoY decline in 2023 HP beats Lenovo Dell says IDC report

India’s computer market has seen a decline last year. Shipments of desktop, notebook, workstation etc. have recorded a nearly 7 percent decline in 2023. Indian PC Market report says that in 2023, 1 crore 39 lakh units of PC market products like desktop, notebook etc. were shown, which is a decline of 6.6 percent year over year (YOY). But the good thing is that the market showed growth again in the second half. In the last quarter of 2023, the market recorded an year -over year growth of 11.4 percent.

In the report released by the IDC, separate figures of desktops, notebooks, and workstation have been released. In which desktop shipments have recorded 6.7 percent year over year growth. Notebook shipments have fallen by 11.1 percent. Also, the workstation market has registered a decline of 14 percent. The decline in the consumer and the commercial segment has also been recorded. At the same time, there has been an increase in education, and government sector. The education sector has a growth of 80.5 percent while the government segment has recorded 18 percent growth.

According to the report, HP is at the forefront of 31.5 percent market share. Its desktop has 25.1 percent shares in the market while the notebook has 33.8 percent market share. But it has lost 2.5 percent in the year over year performance. Lenovo holds second place here with a market share of 16.7 percent. The company has registered a decline of 17.8 percent on the year over year.

DELL is present on the third number with 15.5 percent market share. The year over year has lost 24.5 percent. The market share of Acer Group is 12.3 percent and is in fourth place. The company has gained 16.1 percent year -over year growth here. The demand for its commercial desktop has been observed. Asus comes here at the fifth number with a market share of 7.9 percent. The year over year company has gained 8.6 percent growth. The company is ranked second in the consumer segment, which comes after HP with 15.1 percent.
