mysterious mollusk Apple Sized was found more than 1km below the sea

There are mysterious creatures in the sea, about which scientists know very little. A team of researchers at the Montere Bay Aquarium Research Institute (Mbari) has discovered a shining ‘mysterious mollusk’ in the midnight zone of the sea. The name of this species is Bathydevius Caudactylus. It is like apple in size, but is campered as a maritime slug. According to NDTV reports, the creature discovered is different from the rest of the marine lines.

A research on this new speech has been published in the ‘Deep Sea Research Part I’ magazine. Two senior scientists named Bruce Robisson and Steven Haddock first splched the creature in February 2000, 24 years ago. The creature was seen during the campaign to land into deep water on the banks of Monterey Bay. The robot in the water captured the organism.

Since then, both scientists have seen more than 150 such creatures, which they call ‘mysterious mollusk’. The presence of these organisms is very deep in the water, which is called the Midnight Zone.

What is midnight zone

In the context of oceans, the Midnight Zone is a water area, which is 1 thousand to 4000 meters from the sea surface. That means the midnight zone begins after going down to one kilometer in the sea. This is about 70 percent of sea water.

Researchers say that they have taken more than 20 years to understand the natural history of this species. This discovery can help in understanding the life that flourishes in the oceans on the earth. Scientists believe that this is the first maritime element to live in a deep sea. In the picture or video, it may look slightly bigger, but its size is as much as an apple.
